Enfield Obituary: Stephen Breen, 75

His beloved sister, Janice was at his side. He was born on August 1, 1942, the eldest son of John and Edna Breen (Davis), in Natick, MA. He married the love of his life, Pamela Saunders Grinnell of Wellesley, MA on July 31, 1965 and they had 49 wonderful years together until Pam's death in 2014. He leaves his eldest daughter Deborah Ann Breen of Newburyport, MA, his sisters, Paula Breen-Shapiro & husband Herb of Mendham, NJ, and Janis Deborah Breen Carusone, & husband Joe of South Bristol, ME, his brother David Renton Breen of Framingham, MA, his daughter Karen Breen DeBlois & husband David of Wells, ME, and his son Alan Chandler Breen of Enfield. He also leaves his nieces Stephanie Smith (Nate) and Kricket Warsky (Josh), nephews Todd Grinnell (India), Taylor Grinnell (Jillian), Jordan Warsky (Kelly), Nickolas Breen, Jack Breen, and brother in law, Chandler Grinnell & wife Debbie. Steve was a very competitive athlete and an expert skier. He joined Clapp and Treat, the venerable outdoor outfitters of West Hartford, in 1966 and helped to build their ski shop into a substantial business. He went on to establish his own manufacturer's rep business with Mountain Trails, Inc where he marketed several respected outdoor product lines including Sierra Designs, North Face, Kelty Pack, Gerry, and Swix. In the early 1980s he went into the cable TV industry and was still wearing his Continental Cablevision jacket long after he retired. He was an inveterate reader with an inquisitive mind and had an extensive library that included classic books from his childhood and beyond. He was a member of John Eliot DeMolay in Natick as a youth and of the Loyal Order of the Moose (Thompsonville CT Lodge #1525) for the last 33 years. Steve will be remembered for his sportsmanship, his will of steel, his quiet but profound courage, his heart of gold, and his endless pursuit of the perfect golf game. She was 76 years old.Born in New Rochelle NY to William Telford and Kathleen Dooley, Meg was the eldest of two and was raised in Pelham Manor with her brother Bill. She graduated from Pelham Memorial High School before attending the Brockport State teachers College. After attending Brockport State Meg began working as a travel agent for AAA. Meg loved to travel with her late husband Walter. Through her life long career as a travel agent the couple would travel the world. When Meg wasn't on an international excursion she could be found at the Shamrock House in East Durham or spending time at the Irish Benevolent society where she had served as president. Margaret will be remembered as a straight shooter with a great personality. She was giving and was always ready to help. Margaret is survived by her brother William "Bill" Telford (Janet) of CT, her sister-in-laws Eileen Lunberg of the Bronx and Theresa Brosnan of Florida.A celebration of Margarets life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home, located at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, NY, on Thursday, March 22nd from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Catherines Church, located 25 second Avenue, Pelham NY. on Thursday, March 22nd at 11:00 AM.
